“Wisdom is knowing we are all One. Love is what it feels like and Compassion is what it acts like.” ~ Ethan WalkerCan the key to living a peaceful, fulfilling and abundant life really be as simple as recognizing and acknowledging the principle of Oneness?
I just finished reading book 3 of the Conversations with God series by Neale Donald Walsch. My youngest daughter gave me the Conversations with God Trilogy over ten years ago. It was my birthday gift the year my husband died. I read the first two books and started the third book and then for some reason never finished it. Perhaps I just wasn’t ready at that time to grasp this concept. Now that I have completed all three books and especially since it has been a long stretch between the first and third book, I am inspired to go back and start again from book 1. I highly recommend this series to everyone. It will give you a much more positive image of God and some really awesome thought provoking principles. Back to my reason for writing this blog today. In the last book there is a lot of talk about Highly Evolved Beings. The conversation explores the life principles of HEB’s (the abbreviation used in the book). As I was reading this section, I couldn’t help but think how these simple principles would solve a whole lot of today’s struggles and the division that is causing so much hate and violence. The principles are quite simple: We Are All One– If we are all one, how could you treat someone else in any way that is less than the way you would not treat yourself? There is Enough-When you take that leap of faith and live life knowing “There is enough for everyone”, you would share what you have without even thinking about it. You would not deny anyone anything. There is no need for people to cheat, steal or horde anything. There is Nothing We Have To Do-This concept simply says, there is nothing you have to have, nothing you have to do and nothing you have to be, in order to find happiness and peace. You just have to be You. Being your true self leads to you being happy, wise and loving. I know I said these principles were simple but, based on our current reality, it can seem really difficult to live by these principles. And in order for these principles to create a life of peace for everyone, everyone has to adopt this way of life. Another key to living by these principles is that everyone must live by a Code of Awareness, Honesty and Responsibility. How hard is that in today’s world? This book made me really think about the changes necessary to create a new awareness and new way of living. First in realizing we are all one and we are all connected. The golden rule of treating others as we would treat ourselves. Now this rule does bring up one major concern for me and that is….some people do not treat themselves very well. They have low self esteem, a block because some life event has caused them to believe they do not deserve to be treated well. However, if the golden rule were in place, these events would not have happened or if we are promoting change, there would be enough love and support for these people that they would heal. So this concept of oneness appears to be a very good guiding principle in life. What one person does has an effect on others. Strive to be that one person and make a difference. Sharing resources with the mindset of there is always enough, eliminates a lot of economic problems. When you live as though there is enough you willing share what you have. You don’t even think about it, you just do it. That seems to be another tall order in this world. This would require a huge shift in thinking. No more scarcity mindset. I think we see this concept a lot when bad things happen. When there is a natural disaster, a really horrible event that demands our attention or a family in need, there are many people who will do what they can to help. Just look at Go Fund Me. It amazes me how much people give when they are aware of a bad situation. So why does it have to be a bad situation for us to give of our resources? Imagine a world where we always helped our neighbors, our community and all beings on this earth. Yes all beings, animals included. All that is. A sharing of everything for the greater good of all. Hmmmm Finally the concept of no pressure to Do anything. That seems a little hard to believe. If we didn’t do anything what would become of us? I believe this concept has more to do with being at peace with who you are. Not fitting into what you think you should be. Not believing what others say you are. When you feel happy and accepted, you will naturally do something. You will use your very special talents and gifts to serve a purpose. You will create a life that you love. You will just be you. When we as a community, take care of one another, share our talents and gifts and are protective of our natural resources, we create happy people living in a healthy environment. Take a minute to think about that community. No crime because there is no reason to steal or hurt others because we would not steal from or hurt ourselves. And everyone in the community would be following the code of Awareness (observing what is working in my life and my community, what is not), Honesty (no explanation needed) and Responsibility (for ones actions and the effect ones actions have on others). It looks like a pretty awesome community to me. I encourage everyone to read this book, even if you don’t believe there is a God. It is full of wisdom and ideas that really could change our world for the better. JULY 23, 2019 LEAVE A COMMENT EDIT

Sometimes it feels like the lifestyle you ordered is never going to arrive.
You got another notice saying that perfect lifestyle that you ordered from the catalog is still out of stock. Why is it taking so long? First let's take a look at the definition of lifestyle. I was curious so I asked Alexa this morning to tell me the definition of lifestyle. She said it is "the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group". That's a whole lot of stuff that goes into the making of a lifestyle. No wonder they are always out of stock. So, who is making these lifestyles anyway? What all is included in the lifestyle package I ordered? Will the lifestyle I ordered be everything I dreamed it would be? What if I get it and I just don't like the way it fits? What is the return policy for these lifestyles? So many points to ponder here. It seems to me, in order to get the best ever lifestyle, in a reasonable time frame, you can't just order it from a catalog. You will have to custom design and create it on your own. It may take a little work on your part, but it will be worth the effort. Start by assessing where you are now. How does your current lifestyle look and feel? What do you love about it? What do you not like so much? Is it what you dreamed it would be? Does this current lifestyle fit the way you would like it to? Really think about these questions. Take some time to dream your perfect lifestyle. Include all the important areas of life and lifestyle. Access where you are and where you would like to be. The good news is, your current lifestyle has an excellent return policy. If it isn't what you desire and doesn't fit quite right, exchange it for one that does! If you decide that your current lifestyle isn't really for you, start making changes. Have a vision of where you want to be, make a plan and move forward. Take baby steps. Change a little at a time. Begin to build your very own, best lifestyle ever. I love “do it yourself” projects! Of course, “do it yourself” projects sometimes require the help of experts. Google it! You are sure to find some information that may help you construct your new lifestyle. Maybe you will need to hire an expert to help in certain areas. Hint: A life coach! As you build your new lifestyle, savor every victory and learn from every misstep. Re-evaluate every now and then. Course correct if you have to. Before you know it your custom ordered lifestyle will arrive. And it will be the perfect fit for you. A few important things to remember....Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither is a lifestyle. Most importantly have fun and enjoy your life as you create your new lifestyle! Click on the link above to see my Wordpress Blog
I have been watching the news coverage on Hurricane Harvey. I can't imagine what is like to be a resident in that area. My heart goes out to them and I sent them much love and prayers. Today channel 6 and Disney are sponsoring the Day of Giving Campaign. I am so glad to see this rallying of support for all the people affected by Hurricane Harvey. It is going to be a long road ahead to rebuild and create some normalcy in life. They will need continued support as they embark on this journey to recovery from loss due to the storm.
In addition to or in place of a monetary contribution, they encouraged people to ask "How can I help?". What talents or skills do you have that could help the people of Texas and Louisiana? It doesn't have to be huge. Every little bit helps. Send encouraging messages, donate items that you no longer need but could be of use there, offer your professional services. This has inspired me to offer free coaching to Texas and Louisiana residents as they rebuild. The beauty of coaching is that it is done remotely via phone or skype. I don't have to be local to help. It may be too early right now as counseling may be the better option. But after they have grieved their losses and feel strong enough to move forward, coaching may be useful. It can help as they face the challenges this storm has thrown at them. I am available through e-mail, kkissinger247@gmail.com or phone 610-636-1789. Check out my website www.kathykissinger.com or google life coach to find out how life coaching can help. If you have friends or family affected by the storm please forward my offer to them. I look forward to helping. My last post was inspired by the movie The Secret. It really made me think about the law of attraction and being mindful and grateful. Today, Oprah and Deepak's new meditation started. Desire and Destiny. (It's not too late to join in. https://chopracentermeditation.com/). To begin this new series they ask the question...Who Am I? I remember contemplating this same question during my iPEC life coach training. Answering that question today wasn't any easier than it was 4 years ago. My initial response to that question was "I am helpful". What a lame response. During the meditation the words...."I am inspiration!" came to me. Now I can't say I have felt really inspired for some time. But there it was.....I am inspiration.
This made me think about a time when I really felt I sparkled. I had an incredible energy. Back then I knew my energy could shift other people's energy. Where did that energy go? What changed? How did I let something take away my sparkle. And how am I going to get it back? When I thought about what has changed, I realized I have become somewhat of a hermit these days. It seems my sparkle comes from other people. When I am with people, helping, talking, laughing and having fun, I sparkle. That sparkle energy then goes out and makes others sparkle. That's how energy works. I have known that for a long time. Remember that whole speech I wrote on energy. Just like when I watched The Secret, today's meditation reminded me of how energy works. It's about attracting (law of attraction) energy. Add sharing to the attracting and you get sparkle! I'm not sure how I became a hermit but I want my sparkle back! So it's out into the world I go! I am inspiration! It has been quite a while since I added a blog post!
Last night I watched The Secret on Amazon Prime. I had heard a lot about The Secret but had never watched it. I knew a lot about the Law of Attraction and have even used it in my life. But watching the movie and getting a refresher course in the Law of Attraction has been inspiring. I'm a true believer in energy attracts energy. I wrote a whole speech on the subject. I believe keeping your energy positive and in the upper vibration level is very important in manifesting and attracting. The movie stressed the point that manifesting is not a one shot deal and it is not a wish upon a star type of thing. It works best when you have a specific goal. Picture yourself as already achieving that goal. How does that make you feel? Now really feel it! Make feeling it part of your daily routine. Be mindful of the guidance you receive. Don't ignore those ideas that pop into your head. Don't be so busy in your day that you miss important signs. And a big one for me is to realize that you don't have to do everything by yourself. There are helpful people that are sent to you for a reason. So in order for the Law of Attraction to work you have be mindful and be present and ACT on those ideas and signs. You can do this! Don't let your ego or that little inner voice tell you otherwise. Go forth and manifest! I love the spring flowers and watching the trees begin to get their green on! I love enjoying the outdoors again! Spring is a great time of year. Time to come out of hibernation and get moving! But what am I moving toward? So many options! There's spring cleaning, clean up the yard, plant a garden, spruce up the house, get in shape and enjoy the great outdoors! So much to do! So little time! Sometimes just thinking about it can be exhausting. So how can one enjoy this most beautiful time of the year?
Keep Calm! Focus! Stay In and Enjoy the Present! That may be easier said than done. I will take time for myself to get grounded, meditate and make a plan. Oh.....but that takes time! Time I could be out doing things! What an inner struggle! I don't like to struggle so let me experiment with this. For one week I will prepare myself for the day. I will take the time to Meditate and Focus. I will have a plan for the day. Now I know things don't always go as planned. So, with this in mind I will be flexible. I will not get upset or frustrated when my plan for the day gets knocked off course. There's the Stay Calm Part. I usually don't have a problem enjoying the present moment. But I will make sure I take time each day to really appreciate this awesome season. And perhaps throw in some time to appreciate me too! Life is good! How about you? Will you take this one week challenge? Try it out! Let me know how it goes. I would love to hear from you. Comment below or send me and email: kkissinger@gmail.com Our values make us who we are. They guide us and influence how we live our life. We each have a lot of different values within us. And each value may not be equal in priority. These ingrained values help us determine what is important and how we will spend our time. They are the rules and regulations that we have agreed to live by.
So where do our values come from? You form your value system based on your upbringing: where you were raised, how you were raised, what you experienced. Some are social, some are political, others are cultural. You may have inherited values from your ancestors. Values can be handed down through generations. You will have learned your values from what was acceptable and non-acceptable in your home, schools, playground, work places. We have values in almost every area of life. What is the Value of Knowing Your Values? When we are clear on our core values, we can use them to make choices that will create a more peaceful life. Many times there is a gap between what we do and what we would like to do. Where we spend our time and where we would like to spend our time. Sometimes we let society impose their values on us and rule our lives. If we are not living by our true values we may be stressed and unhappy with our lives. We can use our core values as guidance in living the life we will love. Let your values guide you. Can Values Change? As we change and grow our values also can change. We can also change our values in order to grow. Since our values can be based on untrue beliefs and assumptions we can re-examine them and see if they are serving us or hindering us. Changing our values may help in living the life we will love. Have you identified your core values? Make a list of what is really important to you. What triggers deep emotion in you? Chances are there is a value attached to that emotion/reaction. Make a list of your values. I would love to hear your opinion about values and their value in life. Post comments below. If you would like to talk to me one on one, go to my website to schedule an appointment. www.kathykissinger.com. Or follow the link to my calendar https://calendly.com/kkissinger247 So here's the rest of the Freudian ego model. I talked about the ID being the child that wants what it wants when it wants it.
Then there is the EGO. The Ego attempts to mediate between the Id and reality. It’s functions include judgment, tolerance, reality testing, control, planning, defense, synthesis of information, intellectual functioning, and memory. The ego separates out what is real. It helps us to organize our thoughts and make sense of them and the world around us. "The ego is that part of the id which has been modified by the direct influence of the external world. The ego represents reason and common sense. . It most immediately controls thought and behavior. So it appears the Ego has a very good and necessary role in this game. So why are we told to "let go of our Ego." ? I believe we have to look at the third factor in this model to answer that question. You hear a lot about overcoming your ego. It seems ego gets in the way sometimes. It instills fear and attempts to stop you from moving forward. During my coaching classes we learned about our Gremlins. I equated Gremlins to Ego. But recently I pondered this thing called Ego. What is it and is a good thing or a bad thing to have?
The Ego is one of three parts of Freud's Psychic Apparatus. This is his concept of how the mind works. The first part is the Id. You are born with the Id and it is unorganized and is the part of the personality that takes care of basic needs. It has no judgments or values. Babies cry because they need something! They are hungry, tired, wet or uncomfortable. I recently read a piece about toddlers who consider everything as theirs. They take toys from other children simply because they want it. Babies and toddlers have not developed enough to have an ego. They operate on basic instinct or through Id. Ego is the second part of the trio. It attempts to mediate between the Id and reality. |
